Beauty in Reading

Lashes, brows and the finishing treatments that make the everyday feel done. Our salon is on 3 Prospect Street in Caversham, five minutes from Reading town centre.

About our beauty treatments

Beauty here covers the treatments that make the everyday feel handled: lash extensions applied one hair at a time, semi-permanent brows and definition, genuinely permanent hair removal by electrolysis, and waxing for face and body. The two worth understanding properly before booking are lashes, where the health of your natural lash depends entirely on how they are applied, and electrolysis, a long-established method of permanent hair removal that works hair by hair over a course.

These are the treatments people book again and again, so we think about how your lashes, brows and skin will look a year from now, not just on the day. Lash extensions are matched to what your natural lashes can comfortably carry, waxing is done with care for your skin, and semi-permanent makeup is designed with how pigment softens over time in mind.

So at your consultation we ask about the things that keep results looking their best for longer: what weight your natural lashes can carry, how your skin has reacted to waxing before, and where your brows will sit as your face changes.

Where to start

Which one do you need?

You do not have to know the treatment name. Find the situation that sounds like yours.

1

You want lashes you can wear every day

A full set is applied hair by hair and designed around your eye shape, with the weight matched to what your natural lash can carry. Regular infills keep the set full.

Lash Extensions

2

You want brows that survive the gym and the shower

Semi-permanent makeup gives shape and definition that does not come off. It includes an agreed review, because pigment changes as it heals.

Permanent & Semi-Permanent Makeup

3

You want the hair gone permanently

Electrolysis is a long-established method of permanent hair removal, and it works on any hair colour, including grey and blonde, which laser cannot treat. It is hair by hair over a course.

Electrolysis Hair Removal

4

You want smooth skin now, not a course

Warm and strip waxing for face and body, done quickly. Regrowth is softer and sparser over time, though it is regrowth rather than removal.

The standard we work to

How we work

Oxana is our lash specialist and does nothing else, which is the reason to have lashes done by a specialist rather than as an add-on. Weight and length are chosen for your natural lash rather than for the photograph, so a set that looks dramatic on somebody else may not be what you leave with, and we will explain why. Patch tests are done where they are needed rather than waived because you are in a hurry.

Common questions

How long do lash extensions last?

The set sheds with your natural lash cycle, so infills are needed to keep it full. Left longer, it thins out rather than falling off all at once.

Does semi-permanent makeup fade?

Yes, gradually over one to three years depending on your skin and sun exposure. That is a feature rather than a fault, because it lets the shape be updated as your face changes.

How many electrolysis sessions will I need?

It depends on the area and the hair, and it is a course rather than an appointment. We will give you a realistic number at consultation rather than an optimistic one.

Do I need a patch test?

For lash adhesive and for tinting, yes, at least forty-eight hours beforehand. We will not waive it.

Can I wear mascara with extensions?

You do not need it, and oil-based products break the adhesive down. We will show you what to use and what to avoid.
